NFL - Week 10 Quick Hits

NFL Season: Week 10
Winners, Losers, Quick Hits, & WTF!?

Winners
Bengals – Doing what they did against the Giants says a good bit for Andy Dalton & company. It could be a defining win to possibly aid them in returning to a Wild Card this season. While there is a ton of season left, hats off to them for stealing one from the Giants.

Vikings –
AP Terminator continues to run wild, and they won a huge divisional matchup against the Lions. Just imagine if they had an elite QB.

Bucs – I believe this is the most ‘under the radar’ team of this season currently. It is no easy feat to knock off the Chargers, and I know they haven’t been playing to par to put it plainly, but the Bucs have something going on down there, and aren’t sharing it with the Jags.

Texans – Powerhouse matchup, come out on top, Atlanta loses, and suddenly you’re the Top Ranked team of the NFL.  I thought the Bears would win this one at home, but I was wrong.
Easiest. Touchdown. Ever.

Losers
The Steelers, Eagles, Bears, & 49ers all lost their starting QBs on Sunday. Of those, I feel better about having Campbell & Leftwich playing for me, Kapernick even remotely starting doesn’t creep me out, but while it’s not confirmed, it appears that Rookie Nick Foles will take the field against the Redskins to see if they can stop the bleeding. However, if any of these QBs are down for an extended period of time, it would not be favorable to these teams.

Jets – A team in turmoil, and they can’t find any answers. I slam on them a good bit, and for good reason. They’re completely overrated, and the players continue to have off-field issues that were ‘so-say’ solved for. Maybe they’re the reason Coach Ryan lost all that weight. Tebow isn’t an answer to anyone’s
prayers problems.

Chiefs – They were just so happy to get in the end zone on Monday Night, but they had costly penalties that did them in. I had higher hopes for them this season, but it appears they may fight out the Jags for that #1 Draft Pick.

Whoops a daisy

Quick Hits
Matt Ryan threw for a career high 411 yards in the loss to the Saints.

The Ravens 55 point outing against the Raiders was a franchise record, since they re-entered the league in 1996.

Your Division Leaders after 10 Weeks of football are: Pats, Ravens, Texans, Broncos, Giants, Bears, Falcons, & 49ers

Teams with 3 or More Game Losing Streaks:  Jets, Bills, Redskins (3L) | Eagles, Cardinals (5L) | Chiefs, Jaguars (6L); Teams with 3 or More Game Winning Streaks: Texans, Patriots, Bucs (3W) | Broncos, Packers, Colts, Steelers (4W)

Classy move of the week goes to Andrew Luck, who got drilled by Dawan Landry, as he slid to the ground. Shortly after, both of them shook hands. Good to see respect still exists in the NFL.

Wait, you mean this isn’t baseball?” –Rams, 49ers
I AM SMRT.

WTF!?

The 49ers & Rams played to a 24-24 Tie, which last occurred in 2008. The part that’s baffling, several players (like Danny Amendola) were unfamiliar with the Overtime Rules. Donovan McNabb was all smiles after Sunday.

Calvin Johnson caught 12 balls for 207 yards in the 34-24 loss to the Vikes. Here’s the fun fact, it only ranks as Megatron’s 4th highest receiving yard total of his career. His highest came last year at the Packers in a 45-41 loss, where he caught 11-244.

Team Scoring Leaders in the NFL have a Top 5 in no particular order of: New England (299), Denver (271), NYG (267), Ravens (254), and the BUCS (260). Yeah, I saw that coming too?

Ouchie.
