Notes from Hispandrix

AZ@STL: My gut is thinking the Rams here. I just believe this is a much improved team as opposed to last year, and it has shown. The Cardinals were almost handed their first loss of the season at the hands of the Phins. If the Rams can disrupt Kolb, and the home crowd comes ready to go, it could swing the Rams way, but I'll still take the Cards.

MIA@CIN: Just stop Brian Hartline? Cincy has fared pretty well this season, and are a quiet 3-1 only behind the Ravens. I don't think the Dolphins, despite their play last week against the Cardinals, will stand much a chance against Andy Dalton & company.

GB@IND: Colts riding a high arguably after a victory over the Vikings. Luck looked pretty good, and they looked in sync. Sadly, this won't mean diddly poo. The Packers found their groove last week, and I don't see it being stopped this week.

BAL@KC: And the award for the Jekyll/Hyde team of the season goes to? The Chiefs. They got embarrassed last week against the Chargers at home, turning the ball over almost as much as Tony Romo, well okay, as much as him. That was the Chargers defense, this is the Ravens defense, with a hot Joe Flacco.

CLE@NYG: Hahahahaha, no chance, not even close. Next.

PHI@PIT: Pittsburgh is at 1-2, off the bye week. They might just get Rashard Mendenhall back this week, which even if he's not 100%, it still gives Big Ben another weapon. Steelers won't drop this one at home, count on it.

ATL@WAS: Cam Newton had success against the Falcons last week, and had the Falcons not get lucky, we'd see them with a loss. RGIII proved his toughness yet again against the Bucs. It's tough to think the Skins will drop another at home, and I'm predicting the first Falcons loss comes here, at the hands of RGIII.

SEA@CAR: After the disappointing loss, and Cam Newton blaming himself for the entire thing (Steve Smith had a little to do with some of that too - see early in the game), I think they'll come out firing on all cylinders, and may just give the Seahawks 'vaunted/praised' defense some fits.

CHI@JAC: The old Monsters of the Midway flashed their stuff on the center stage Monday night. The defense contained the Cowboys, or well, maybe the Cowboys choked their way to a loss. Either way, Cutler & Marshall found that old chemistry. Depending on which personality shows up Sunday, the Bears should handle this one.

TEN@MIN: Tennessee is struggling. Chris Johnson found his gears last week, but I don't see it replicating. Beating the 49ers really said something, and following that up by beating the Lions is another. I never would have thought the Vikings would get off to the start they have, but I'll ride the wagon at least one more week.

DEN@NE: Remember 21-21 against the Bills in the 4th quarter last week? Yeah, that ended in 52 points for the Pats, and 2 100-Yard Rushers on the day. Denver just blew out the Raiders last week. I think this may be a really big shootout, but I'll give the edge to the Pats at home, and can't wait to see another Manning-Brady duel.

BUF@SF: Buffalo just can't find a win, and it won't happen against the 49ers either.

SD@NO: I'll discuss more as always in my Keys to the Game....but one must think Sean Payton, Loomis, & Vitt all in attendance + Brees facing the team that gave up on him may count for something????

HOU@NYJ: This may be the crappiest Monday Night Football game matchup of the season. The Jets are horrid, and lost Holmes for the season. Not like it helps, but this team isn't going to beat the red hot Texans.
