1st & 5:
Week by Week Picks for the 2012 NFL Season
An about average week for Pick'em, no one really saw Arizona or San Francisco coming. Mosh N' Hops (Shawn) holds his lead, still by four games. 2 weeks left, and playoffs around the corner, anything can happen! See Week 15 Results Here, or Look Below!

Notes from Hispandrix
ATL@DET: Falcons showed up last week against the Giants, and though they crushed them, this is one that they could lose. Detroit, well, has been Detroit, losing at the hands of the Cardinals 38-10. Falcons should win again here.
OAK@CAR: Carolina has been rolling as of late, and I’m sure they are wondering what things might have been if this team was there all season. Oakland comes to town after a shutout of the Chiefs. The Panthers are a much different ball club, and Cam Newton should have a big day.
BUF@MIA: Oh those Bills. Not even Toronto could help them out, as they were destroyed by the Seahawks last week 50-17. The Dolphins won is easy fashion 24-3, and I believe aside from that earlier matchup, the Dolphins will win here, with a big day from Reggie Bush.
CIN@PIT: Pittsburgh is in sort of a freefall, as Big Ben gave the game away last week, as he was picked off by Brandon Carr in Overtime. They’ve lost their last two, and with the Bengals on top of them now in the Wild Card race, there’s no doubt panic mode is in play. With the Ravens dominating the division at 4-1, a win by either of these clubs doesn’t necessarily put them up over the Ravens, but it looks like the last Wild Card spot could be occupied by either of these squads. With that being said, I believe Pittsburgh rights the ship, and gets this one at home.
NE@JAC: We’ve seen it plenty of times, what happens after the Patriots lose? Especially if you are about to play the Jaguars?
IND@KC: The Colts hung in there for the most part, but were bested by the Texans last week. With the team clinging to the #5 Wild Card position, it is imperative that they win this game, and I believe they’ll do it with ease against those terrible Chiefs.
NO@DAL: As always, you know my in depth analysis comes for Saints games, but just keep thinking the Cowboys haven’t lost in December, have a lot to play for, and the Saints would love to hurt their chances of a postseason.
WAS@PHI: Kirk Cousins, not RGIII managed to get things done for the Redskins last week against the Browns. While it wasn’t the most shocking thing, the Redskins find themselves at the #4 Wild Card position now, and the NFC East Leaders!? A healthy RGIII will spell trouble for the Eagles, who were content turning it over just about any chance they got last week against the Bengals.
STL@TB: The Rams just fell victim to the AP Train, and the Bucs just had their worst outing in years. Look for Doug Martin to get back to some normalcy & Josh Freeman to get his act back together this week, but I will take the Rams this week for victory.
SD@NYJ: Oh Jets, you somehow manage to just suck. Even with the wins they have this season, this team & their fans act like they are 0-14. With the benching of Mark Sanchez recently announced, and that Greg McElroy, NOT Tim Tebow will be starting at QB, this might have just punched those QB tickets out of New York, and maybe for Sanchez, the league. Chargers have been playing well at the end of this season (where have I heard that before?), so they should keep things going here.
TEN@GB: It’s been a tough year in Tennessee, and they now travel to take on the Packers at the Frozen Tundra. Sorry Titans, it’s just not your season. Packers should roll.
MIN@HOU: Vikings are looking to get into the postseason, and the Texans are trying to fend off Denver to have Home Field Advantage for the playoffs. A very promising matchup here, as the top question is ‘Will AP get shutdown, or run all over the Titans?’ The Vikings could show up to play a little here, but in the end I believe you’ll see Schaub & company celebrating their win.
CLE@DEN: Well Cleveland was doing pretty decent, as they were winners of 3 out of last 4 going into the Redskins game. However, they lost 38-21, at the hands of Kirk Cousins. Enter Peyton Manning, and the red hot Broncos, winners of their last 9. You tell me how this is gonna go.
CHI@AZ: Just when you think the Cardinals are your punching bag, they explode for 38 points against the Lions, and allow only 10. I don’texactly know what the hell happened, maybe some Vortex in Arizona, or some other sorcery. However, with the Bears having a poor showing at home, one will gladly take the Bears, because they are who we thought they were.
NYG@BAL: Ravens are losers of their last 3, and are flirting with surrendering their divisional crown. They need this game desperately, but so do the Giants, who are now 9th in the playoff race, as Washington & Dallas have rose above them. Missing from the field was Ray Rice (funny how that works after firing your OC). This is slightly unfamiliar territory for both teams, and I fully anticipate one hell of a matchup, and I think we see the Ravens back in full force.
SF@SEA: Well, can you believe that the Seahawks have had back to back 50+ point outings, and are threatening to take over the NFC West? All the 49ers did last week was run into New England, and outscore them, putting up 41 against them. Has your head exploded yet? This has the makings of a defensive showing, and with the Seahawks being a perfect 6-0 at home, I believe this may surprise some, take the Seahawks.
