Notes from Hispandrix

CIN@PHI: Well, congrats to the Eagles for breaking that losing skid. While the future remains uncertain for Andy Reid, we all know what is certain. The Bengals are coming off a game they should have won, and if they want to keep those playoff hopes alive in the still open AFCNorth, they have to show up today.

NYG@ATL: What exactly has Atlanta done lately? Not much. All you think of when you look at this matchup is 24-2. The Giants caused all sorts of fits for them in the playoffs last season, and this isn’t a game where the Falcons have to win. The Giants are playing well (aside from that Redskins loss), they should win here in Atlanta, and break that stupid home streak they had.

DEN@BAL: It’s scary to think the Ravens could drop two in a row. The home field advantage they had was astounding until the Steelerscame to town & ruined that. Now enters a red hot Denver team. Manning long remembers his days in Indy when he had to face the Ravens, and I like them to win on the road here.

GB@CHI: Let’s see, NFC North collision, the Bears have been struggling, the Packers have been rolling. It’s in Chicago, and USUALLY it becomes a good matchup. It’s hard to think that the Packers won’t continue their successes here.

WAS@CLE: Cleveland has been playing very well, and that’s not a typo. They’ve managed to crawl out of any laughing stock/punching bag they are used to being this season. RGIII is a monster, and he’s healthy (reportedly). Look for the Skins to end the Browns winning streak.

IND@HOU: If I just got embarrassed on the road, I’d make sure it wasn’t a joke. Sadly, it will likely come at the expense of the Colts. I see a potential upset here, but one would think the previous ‘AFC Favorite’ to get back into the groove on Sunday.

JAC@MIA: Jacksonville made the Jets look like a half-assed football team. Miami should roll them.

TB@NO: 3 game losing streaks for each, lots of emotions from the weeks, wonder where I’d side.

MIN@STL: AP has been sick nasty, and the Vikings have been great at home, but on the road? 1-5. Rams have a lot to play for here, and believe it or not, they are on a 3-game winning streak. Rams.

DET@AZ: I have ‘trap’ on this one, but Ryan Lindley? 5-game losing streak vs. 9-game losing streak, at least one team will break that, and I’m betting on the Lions.

SEA@BUF: Marshawn Lynch against his old squad. Seattle’s defense just destroyed the Cardinals, but to that point, just about any 5A High School could probably do that now. I’ll take the Seahawks, despite that ugly 2-5 road record.

CAR@SD: Sure, the Panthers just knocked off the Falcons, and sure, the Chargers just knocked off the Steelers. San Diego sucks at home (2-4), and Carolina sucks on the road (2-4). The Chargers are 0-3 in Non Conference play, and the Panthers are 0-2 in Non Conference play. I say all that to say this. Chargers.

PIT@DAL: Dallas played with all sorts of emotions last Sunday on the road, and now they come back home to host the Steelers, a similar AFC North foe. The Steelers didn’t get things in gear till late against the Chargers last week. It could really go either way, but the Cowboys are vulnerable, especially at home. Look for this to start the December-ing for Dallas.

KC@OAK:  Chiefs, Raiders. While both clubs have had miserable seasons, it’s a divisional bout, and we should see a lot of Raider success through the air (and of course a Carson Palmer pick).

SF@NE: Colin Kaepernick may get pulled out of this one. The Pats should beat up on the 49ers, no matter how much you want to say their defense, their defense, their defense. This is especially going to be interesting should Rob Gronkowski suit up.

NYJ@TEN: Yawn. No one cares about this poor excuse for a MNF Game. Titans.
